This is one of the two programs offered for Tolland Public Library's 2025 Summer reading program.
Children's Program:
This program is designed for ages 5 - 12. But --- new this year -- Ages 11 and 12 can pick which program to sign up for. The Children's or the Teen program (click on the Teen program to learn more) Only sign up for one program per child\teen -- sorry no double dipping. Ensure you are registering for the correct program when signing up.
The program: Just for signing up you get to pick a free book from our Summer Reading Book Cart. After that, log the books you read in this app. The Kids Program has you earning 50 points per book read. Every 200 points you earn a prize that you will pick up at the library on your next visit. Along with the prize, you earn a ticket that you will fill out and put into one of the bigger prize baskets for a chance to win it. They will be labeled to show which ones are for the Kids program only. The baskets are prizes geared towards ages 5 - 12. We will draw winners at the end of the program
August 16th is the last date to enter your tickets.
For 11 & 12 year old only: If you are 11 or 12 and debating on which program to sign up for -- here are the the differences. Teens earn three drawing tickets per book read (10 max). They do not receive small prizes every 200 points. They do receive a free book for signing up just like the Kids Program but they also earn another free book if they read 10 books the entire summer. If you have not stopped in the library yet before you sign up -- perhaps come in and check out the prize baskets. There are different baskets for the two programs. If you sign up for the kids program, you can not put in for teen baskets and vise versa.
